Bruno Giacosa Barolo Riserva Gold Label Falletto, 1964

Bruno Giacosa is considered to be one of the best wine producers from Piedmont and is called the “genius from Neive”. His gold labelled Falletto was made in 1961 and 1964, supposedly in memory of his grandfather Carlo, and there are just a few bottles left in the world! #increadiblelucky

Bruno Giacosa Gold Label Riserva (Falletto) 1964

The smell of this bottle gives a good first impression, but it is a bit entrapped. It has the typical nebbiolo smell and you can almost feel the forest and leaves.

On taste, it is pure elegance from sip number one. I don´t think a bottle of mature nebbiolo can be much better than this. Even though it is more than 50 years old, the minerality is fresh, it is fruity and it is a wonderful experience to taste. Moments like this makes me utterly happy, and I feel super lucky!

After an hour in the glass it opens up even more, and I just didn´t want the adventure to end… Luckily, Giacosa makes a lot of good wine!

This gold labeled bottle was produced only a couple of times during the 60s as a speciality. It is a rare and amazing treat!
