Hostellerie de Levernois is a beautiful hotel with great ambience, wonderful staff, fantastic surroundings and a kitchen to die for!

Sometimes you come to a place and it feels like you are home. A bit surprising this time, because the driveway is lavish and stunning, the garden is huge and looks like it belongs to royals, and the house is wonderful. But somehow the couple that runs the place has managed to bring the place down to earth and still keep the luxurious feel to it. This goes both for the surroundings, the atmosphere and the food. Hostellerie Levernois is a member of the Relais & Châteaux association, which means that is has a high standard of excellence in hospitality.

A lot of times when you come to upscale hotels in France, you get a feeling that your children are not very welcome. Not here. The garden was heaven for them. Running around between lovely flowers, sky-high trees and old statues never get old. Even the restaurants were great, when it came to tailoring dishes to fit every special request from the children. That makes both mom and dad very happy (when our girls had finished their meal in the gourmet restaurant, the staff brought them to a connecting room where they got a sofa each to lay down on with their iPads and drawings while we continued to enjoy the meal).

Hostellerie Levernois has two places to dine. The upscale, Gourmet restaurant and the Bistro. Both fantastic! You can read more about the restaurants under Eating It, but I have to mention that their selection of cheese could not have been any better. I still dream about that trolley…

I also loved the rooms at this hostellerie. We stayed at a spacious family room with a large bathroom and a sofabed made up for the kids while we were eating dinner. The bed was comfy and the room was quiet with a beautiful view. Even the breakfast succeeded my expectations. Lovely bread, eggs the way you want them, and a large selection of meat and cheeses.

I really love Hostelle Levernois. It is a bit pricy, and there is no pool or spa here, but apart from that, everything is perfect!
