Antico Podere Tota Virginia

For a picky traveller, this place has it (almost) all! The view and the building is beautiful. The pool is clean, good looking and big enough. The restaurant serves great food and the winelist is superb!

The only thing it lacks is a stylish room, but if you love to travel in Italy, you soon realize that modern, minimalistic and stylish interior is not their thing. So you learn to live with it. Besides. Who needs a pretty room when the rest of the place is perfect? As mentioned, the view, the food and the wine is beautiful. And you get to enjoy it all at the same time. At least if you get a table on the outside (the inside of the restaurant is not so exciting).

Being in the heart of Piedmont, there are several excellent producers to choose from, so the only negative thing about their wine list is that you have to make a choice. Again, telling your waiter what you like and having them choose for you may be the way to go. Especially if you want them to make it a perfect match to what ever you decide to eat. We have enjoyed several meals here, and I have never eaten anything I didn´t like. It is not one of those places where you are left speechless because it is so over the top fantastic, but it is definitely above average. You can even extend your stay and finish your bottle of wine while looking at your kids play in the pool after they have finished.I recommend their freshly made pasta and tartar, but also their salads and lighter dishes.The tota Virginia is good for both a weekend and a whole weeks stay. The manager will do his best to make you happy from the second you enter his building.
